FMTS Transformation Manager (Job Number: 1211978)
Description
The incumbent will direct the FMTS Global Transformation Strategy & Technology Tools group, which provides business strategy and implementation support to the GCT, DR, SOS, Treasury, Broker-Dealer and Alternative Investment Services businesses. He/she is responsible for the Sector's Transformation strategic plan process, including developing and continually refining line of business and sector strategy, identifying opportunities for business synergies among the businesses of the sector, managing strategic projects in each of the businesses and across the sector, and implementing techniques, processes and workflow tools to encourage innovation and efficiency across the sector. Will manage both the International and U.S. FMTS Global Services Transformation teams.
Goals and objectives of this position are to support the Sector's annual and ongoing strategic plan process, including development of line of business and sector transformation strategy for Executive Committee, Board of Directors, securities analysts and other audiences; develop presentations of Sector strategies for Executive Committee, Board of Directors, securities analysts and other audiences; assess the Sector¿s approach to transformation and develop, implement and manage an approach to transformation that enables ongoing business improvement and ensures active involvement by all levels of staff across the Sector; work closely with the COO Innovation Strategy group and business heads, to ensure that Sector transformation efforts are coordinated and aligned with BNYM, Sector, and business strategies; represent the Sector in ongoing cross-BNYM transformation and innovation efforts, including the Securities Servicing Forum, the MIC MPP Re-engineering Corporate Consulting Operations Council and FMTS Transformation Steering Committees; and materially contribute to the achievement of the Sector¿s high level operations goals.
a. 20% reduction in expense (616 million base line)
b. 25% reduction in high cost location headcount
c. 15% reduction in the number of operating locations
d. Transformation will be materially complete in less than 3 years
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have a BA/BS degree in business/finance or equivalent experience required; MBA or equivalent degree is strongly recommended.
The qualified candidate will also have 15+ years progressive business experience in a financial services or related industry with 10+ years experience in business/process reengineering, quality management, project management and business planning. Proven organizational ability. Strong analytical skills. Excellent oral, written and presentation skills. Practical implementation of strategic transformation, Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma Projects is a plus.
